November 1st, 2018: Sandy Beaches Cruise XXV has chosen the El Pueblo Unido Program as a way for this year's cruisers to support the re-building of schools in Puerto Rico following last year's devastating hurricanes. Cruisers will be bringing student backpacks filled with school supplies and donating money to help accelerate recovery. October 1st, 2018: The first day of Design Lab at Escuela FMC. 120 eleventh graders with assistance from 12 grade TAs started their introduction to Design Thinking with the classic d.school Wallet Challenge. Students are spending their mornings on learning and practicing the steps of Design Thinking. In the afternoons, they are taking classes ranging from 3D Foam Art, Choir, Computer Programming to Urban Farming. Check out FMC's Facebook post about Day 1...
August 10th, 2018: d.tech Founding Class of 2018 graduate Jose Obregon moves to Puerto Rico for a gap year. Jose will be supporting Escuela FMC's effort to become the first Specialized (magnet) School in Puerto Rico focused on Design Thinking and Innovation.
August 6th - 9th: Three staff members from Escuela FMC traveled to California to attend Design Tech High School's Summer Teacher Institute.
July 31st: 7 employees from the Digital Marketing Group at Pure Storage spent a day with Escuela FMC building rolling white boards and assembling prototying kits (all of which Pure Good donated) in support of the launch of FMC's new Design Thinking program.
June 10th - 23rd: 14 students and staff from Escuela FMC traveled to California for a full two week immersion in d.tech's final intersession of the 2017-18 school year.
